About

Dr. Michael Hornberger joined Bulger Veterinary Hospital on August 18, 2008. Mike graduated from Cornell in 2002 and after graduation came to the North Shore as a general practitioner at two different local practices. For the first 6 years of his career he focused on the general practice patient, but in early 2008 he made a jump to the ER team at Port City. He found while the crew at Port City was amazing he missed the interactions of the GP world and joined Bulger in 2008 as a general practitioner and has been happy back in that role.  Mike recently became certified through CRI – the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. His passion for physical therapy has really taken hold over this past year and with the addition of the diode therapy laser he is helping many patients with a variety of needs, from post-op surgical cases to chronic arthritis management. And while Mike mainly practices in the GP department, he does a great job on a busy ER shift while keeping his cool and calm demeanor!

Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, a veterinarian at a local referral practice and his two kids. He is a very involved and active parent and is a troop leader for his childrens’ scout troops! When he’s not at work, he’s likely with his family outdoors hiking, skiing or simply relaxing with a good book.
