About

Dr. Blaine Hymel grew up in South Coast, Massachusetts and later moved to Rhode Island to complete her undergraduate degrees. During her time in the ocean state, Dr. Hymel worked closely with the Wildlife Rehabilitator’s Association of RI where she cared for injured and orphaned wildlife. Her favorite creatures to work with included raccoons, foxes, and bats. Dr. Hymel went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2022. She then completed a small animal rotating internship here at Bulger in 2023 and afterwards formally joined the team as a primary care and emergency veterinarian.

Dr. Hymel still lives in Rhode Island with her fiancé, two pit bulls, and four cats. She loves to garden, draw, kayak, and spend time at the beach with her dogs.
